17 Week Update

Wow! Taylor has been so busy since our last update. One week ago, we went to Seguin for her Granny Susu's backyard BBQ hosted by KENS 5 (a local San Antonio TV station). It was quite a party with at least 50 people plus the TV and BBQ crew. Taylor was on TV briefly, but we had to go inside (where there was no cameras taping) because it was too loud outside with everyone cheering to be on TV. Taylor did get to meet the weatherman, Bill Taylor, who hosted the BBQ for the TV station. He liked her a lot since they had the same name! Not every baby gets to be on TV at such a young age! On Saturday, we went to visit Aunt Karen, Uncle Will, Emma and Elizabeth Scull for a little play time. On Tuesday we went back to see Dr. Davis for our 4 month check up. She said Taylor was perfect (which I already knew!) Taylor weighed 14.6 pounds and is 24 1/2 inches long! Dr. Davis said that we could try rice cereal. Taylor is still not quite sure about it, but she definetely likes it better made with apple juice than milk - she must have a sweet tooth like her momma. She is able to sit up in her Bumbo chair and seems to really like it (thanks Anissa & Tandra)! I don't think she could be doing any better!

4 Month Update

I can't believe it, but Taylor is already 4 months old! All mothers probably say this, but my baby is just perfect! She is doing so much - something new everyday. She loves to sit up and look all around. She is just talking/cooing so much and she laughs at least once a day - it is the cutest thing! She smiles almost all the time and is such a happy baby. She still loves the ceiling fan, but she has started to play with more of her stuffed animals and rattles also. Taylor even tries to help hold her bottle when she is eating. Taylor got to visit with our friend Will Carter this week before he left to go back to Iraq. Last weekend, we all went to Houston for great Aunt Patti's 65th birthday party (pics will be up when I get them). Taylor got to meet her 2nd and 3rd cousins: Wally, Tahara and Cassie Cater & Brandi & Riley Richardson. We also got to see Uncle John and Aunt Anne for a little bit too. We got up and went to church in Seguin for the first time on Sunday and got to see quite a few people. We hope to have a more quiet weekend this coming one, but we'll see.

15 Week Update

Taylor had a very busy first 4th of July. We all got up early and went to Seguin for the annual 4th of July parade. We found some great seats under a tree, but Taylor did not care for the motorcycles or firetrucks. After the parade, we got to have a great big lunch with everyone - Granny Susu & Grandpa, great Granny Ruth & Walt, Uncle John & Aunt Anne, Lynn & Mike B. (Anne's parents from Ohio), cousin Christen & Dave and Brad & Angie (next door neighbors). We had a quiet afternoon and then went to see the fireworks that night. Taylor didn't know what to think about the fireworks - she really didn't like the sounds even though we weren't close. On Saturday afternoon, we over to a BBQ at Darren & Danielle Peters and got to visit with even more people. Taylor got to see her friends - Elizabeth and Emma Scull. On Saturday we got home and had to go to sleep because we were so worn out! All in all, it was a great first 4th of July for Taylor!

14 week update

Taylor is 14 weeks old today. She is changing so much! This past week, she has learned how to blow lots of spit bubbles, but she can even make a "rasberry" sound. She will sit and make noises on her own and in response to us. It is the cutest thing ever! I think she is already starting to teeth so some days she is very slobbery, but she is so cute its okay. She got to spend the weekend with her Grammy Spice who came for a visit. She had lots of fun and attention! We're looking forward to our first 4th of July this weekend.
